CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars came up just short in their bid to win their third straight game on Tuesday night, losing 5-4 to the Colorado Eagles in overtime at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

The Stars took an early lead on a power-play goal by Nick Caamano just 5:46 into the game. The Eagles tied it up less than two minutes later on a goal by Martin Kaut, and the two teams traded goals throughout the rest of the period.

The Stars regained the lead early in the second period on a goal by Riley Damiani, but the Eagles again tied it up just minutes later on a goal by Justus Annunen. The two teams continued to trade chances throughout the period, but neither team could find the back of the net.

The Stars took the lead for the third time in the game early in the third period on a goal by Adam Mascherin, but the Eagles once again tied it up just over a minute later on a goal by Shane Bowers. The two teams played a scoreless overtime period, and the Eagles won it in the shootout.

The Stars are now 2-3-0 on the season and will be back in action on Friday night when they host the Iowa Wild at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

Conclusion:

The Stars showed a lot of fight in this game, but they ultimately couldn't get the win. They'll need to be better at closing out games if they want to be successful this season.
