Discovery Channel Star's Cause of Death Revealed

Nick Mavar, a deckhand on the Discovery Channel reality series "Deadliest Catch," has died at the age of 54. The Bristol Bay Police Chief confirmed Mavar's death on Thursday, June 13. The cause of death was determined to be natural causes.
Mavar, who appeared as Captain Sig Hansen's right-hand man from 2005 to 2021, was known for his expertise in fishing and his dedication to the crew of the Cornelia Marie. He was a valued member of the Discovery Channel family and his passing has left a void in the hearts of fans.
The Discovery Channel expressed their condolences in a statement, saying, "Nick Mavar was a true Alaskan fisherman, and his love for the sea and his crew shone through on 'Deadliest Catch.' He will be deeply missed by his Discovery Channel family and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this difficult time."
