Nico Williams has become the latest member of his family to join Athletic Bilbao's first team, making history alongside his older brother Inaki as the first siblings to play for the club since 1986.

Nico, 20, joined Bilbao's youth academy in 2013 and has rapidly progressed through the ranks, earning a promotion to the reserve team in 2020 and the first team a year later. He has quickly become a key performer for the club, following in the footsteps of his elder brother.

In a remarkable turn of events, both Inaki and Nico Williams have been named in their respective national teams for the upcoming World Cup. Inaki will represent his parents' nation, Spain, while Nico is set to play for Ghana.

The Williams brothers made history on Saturday when they became the first brothers in 17 years to score in the same Spanish LaLiga match.
